The lux series, just does not get enough attention. The series is all about aliens living secretly in the world and humans who get caught into it. The series consists of 4 main books and the fifth is being released the summer, 1. Obsidian 2. Onyx 3. Opal 4. Origin and the fifth will be called Opposition. The series also has 2 side books Shadows which is like a pre-sequel it follows the life of Daemon's older brother Dawson (Daemon is one of the main characters in the lux series) and Dawson's love for a human girl which isn't forbidden just frowned upon. The other book Obsession is relating to the series, the reason I say relating is because the main characters from the Lux series are never formally introduced but there are parts in the book where the paths met. The book Obsession is the alien world told in a more grown up way ;) if you get what I'm saying. But what's really interesting about it is it's told by the point of view of an arum which in the lux series is considered to be the enemy. The book Obsession takes place during Origin.
I know if you haven't read these books your probably thinking What's an arum?
Arum- Is considered in the lux series to be the species that invaded the Luxens planet (I'll get to them later) and destroyed it and killed most of the luxen. The arum of creatures of the shadows and darkness which in a way means they are full of darkness and are made up of shadows. The arum in a way suck the soul out of Luxen for energy or humans which don't give them much energy. The arum are the natural enemies of the Luxen. Arum can also be killed by Obsidian.
Luxen- Are considered to be almost the hail Mary's of the earth because they are one of the only things that can kill arum. Luxen are beings of the light. The can manipulate it and reflect, they can move amazing fast and have intense strength. They can go into full light brite mode, but the coolest thing they can do is freeze time. Luxen don't eat humans or any of that jazz, but they will kill to protect those they love.
I adored this series I own all the books and am seriously going to die if I don't get my hands of the 5th book coming out. The series is sci-fi but not to the point where you go "Oh it's ANOTHER alien book" it's romantic to the point where you want to date Daemon Black, but it's also action packed and exhilarating. I give this series a 5 out of 5. I just want more and more and more of this series
