Elegy- Amanda Hocking

Elegy-Amanda Hocking
Elegy is the fourth and final book in The Water Song Series, I personally loved this series. I loved how it involved Greek mythology which I'm obsessed with. I really had a bond with the characters in the series, well almost all the characters I honestly hated Penn, Lexi and Thea. The series is a unique one, I loved the first two books in the series so much I honestly became addicted, but with Tidal and Elegy I grew a tad disappointed, I'm still very happy with how the series ended, I did really enjoy how they solved everything.
Gemma is a siren, and her time on earth is running out. Unless she finds a way to break the siren curse. Daniel is doing dangerous things to protect the people he loves. Harpers away at school but needs to help her sister, and Alex is feeling things his head knows is wrong to feel but his heart tells him a different story.
Thank Zeus for Penn finally being gone, I'm even happy Liv and Thea are gone. I know Thea was the good one but she was just as bad as Penn. I love the Greek mythology that is incorporated into the story, I loved the romance it wasn't hot and steamy it was sweet and caring. This book was not my favorite in the series but I loved how they got the happy ending they deserved and how justice was served, it is hard to believe that this whole series took place in like one summer but I loved it anyways I would give this book a 4 out of 5.

Sarah Dessen's Books In Order From Favorite To Least Favorite

I'm going to be telling you my favorite and least favorite Sarah Dessen books in order
  1. The Truth About Forever
  2. That Summer
  3. Dreamland
  4. Lock And Key
  5. Just Listen
  6. Along For The Ride
  7. This Lullaby
  8. What Happened To Goodbye
  9. Someone Like You
  10. Keeping The Moon
  11. The Moon And More
I personally love Sarah Dessen's books to the moon and back and only a few of them have ever let me down, those ones would have to be number 10 and 11. I honestly excepted more out of The Moon And More, and Keeping The Moon has never been a favorite of mine. But my 2 favorite are The Truth About Forever and That Summer. One reason I loved That Summer was because it wasn't Sarah Dessen's typical romance story it was more a self discovery book that I loved so much.
Let me know how you felt about The Moon And More

Shatter Me - Taherheh Mafi

Shatter Me-Tahereh Mafi
I saw people on booktube talking about this book and I didn't really see what the big deal was, until I saw it in my local library and decided to take a chance on it. Let's just say I'm not disappointed. One thing I found super captivating in this book was how beautifully written it was, even if you don't like the idea of the book I would recommend you read this book just for the writing.
This book is about a girl named Juliette who is lethal, her touch will kill you and once you touch her you can't let go. At the beginning of the book she has been locked up for 264 days she hasn't seen another human in 264 days, hasn't spoken to anyone in 264 days. Her parents saw her as a devil and so did everyone else. The reestablishment locked her up for 'others safety' but they have plans for her, they plan to use her as a weapon. After a life without freedom she's ready to fight back, and she's discovering a future with a boy she thought she had lost forever.
OMG at first when I read about Adam is was like 'this is great, is she going to get knocked up or something' but then when I read about why Adam was really there I was like 'you little bastard' but then you find out Adam volunteered to do it and I was like 'Yes she deserves a little happiness'. Kenji made me laugh a lot when he was commenting about how her voice was naughty and whatnot, and then Adam being so protective was like the sweetest thing ever. But god Warner just cannot take no for an answer, like dude she doesn't want you so piss off. I really enjoyed this book and found it really interesting and different from anything I've read before which is why I gave it 4.5 stars out of 5. As soon as my library opens back up, I am getting Unravel Me and no one can stop me.

Wait For You-J.lynn

Wait For You-J.lynn
Wow this book was so different, it wasn't just focused on one main idea, it was focused on like 5 or 6 the whole time. I loved how you tried to piece together her past, you eventually find out but not until the end. I seriously loved this book so much.
Avery traveled 1000 miles to college to try and escape what happened to her 5 years ago at a Halloween party. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself. Cameron Hamilton is 6 feet tall and has amazingly blue eyes, she knows she needs to stay away from him but he's everywhere with his witty remarks and his charm. But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?
This book I really enjoyed Cam was so sweet to her. I know people will say she was a bitch to him but you have to think about what happened in her past, that's a lot to deal with especially with horrible parents. I loved how I got to know both Cam and Avery really well, I thought what Cam did for his sister was so sweet also a tad bit scary but he would do anything for her. This book deals with very real life possibilities, and I found that really interesting to see how they dealed with it. Jennifer has did it again written an amazing book that I had to read in one sitting. I loved the romance in this book but also the realistic circumstances. I give this book 4 stars out of 5.

The Edge Of Never-J.A Redmerski

Wow I loved this book and I loved the characters. It is such a breathtaking page turning book and I think I'm in love with Andrew Parrish. This book follows 2 young people with deep dark secrets. Camryn is done with love and relationships the two she's had have hurt her immensely, her boyfriend of 2 years Ian was killed in a car accident and the very next guy she was with cheated on her, after a night at a club called Underground Camryn decides to leave her town and travel anywhere she boards a bus to Idaho and meets Andrew the guy with tattoos and who plays his music much to loud, and the guy who shows her how amazing it is to feel alive.
Andrew's dad is dying in a hospital and that's where he's headed to say his final goodbyes he started in Texas and he's on his way to Wyoming he boards a bus and there he meets Camryn the girl who's not afraid to put him in his place. The girl who shows him how to be alive.
I loved this book because it wasn't like most young adult books where the moment the guy and girl see each other their in love; that's a heart warming story but it isn't the truth. I liked how in this book their relationship evolves at a normal pace. I also love how you got both perspectives I always love books where you get the guy and girls perspective. At first I thought it was going to be some average cheesy road trip story but it's not you really hit some deep feelings and stuff. But OMG some of the scenes were like hard core, the truck driver scene for example....... I cried at the end I was like
It was sad and heart breaking but it ended on a good note, and the whole end I was hoping Camryn got the ending she deserved it was like she was a real person and I was praying for Andrew. I thought it was so freaking cute when Camryn said she wanted to get the other half of the tattoo, now that is love. Overall I give this book of 4.5 out of 5.

Frigid- J.Lynn

Frigid- J.lynn
Sydney has been in love with Kyler he best friend for a long long time, they have been best friends since Kyler pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somehow throughout their friendship she fell for him hard the only problem is Kyler puts the man in man whore. Sydney doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.
Kyler has always put Sydney on a pedestal that is too high for him to reach, it's to high for any guy to reach. Sydney is perfect and he has feelings for her always sleeping with different girls to try to control his feelings. Sydney's the one girl he cannot have.
They both get stranded at a ski resort during a snowstorm alone, they are both forced to confess their feelings. The only question is can their friendship survive the attraction or better yet can they survive the snow is falling and someone is stalking them.
At first I was like "No way did Jennifer l armentrout just write a typical new adult book" because she's always so unique and out their when it comes to stories. But I felt like she did an excellent job of turning a new adult novel into a little bit of a mystery with the person stalking them. I actually quite enjoyed this book, but I did except more from Jennifer. Sydney was a bit annoying always questioning if what Kyler said was true even though he has never lied to her before. I really loved how the book was written switching back and forth between Sydney's point of view and Kyler's point of view, I always find it so interesting when you see the guy's point of view too. I would give this book a 4 out of 5. It's a good easy read about friends who have feelings for each other.

Jordyn's Favorite Series

This isn't going in any order I love all these series equally!
  • The Lux Series- Jennifer L Armentrout. I have a whole separate review on this series and companion/ novella, that I did in February. I love this series so much it mixs romance and sci-fi which I found really interesting and Daemon Black was on my Top Fictional Boyfriend list I did. If you haven't read this series I would highly highly recommend you do.
  • The Mortal Instruments Series- Cassandra Clare. I really love this series its so interesting and is so unique. The series has 6 books the 6th is coming out this year, I haven't read Clock Work Prince or Princess yet but I definitely do want to. The series is basically about angels, demons and people who have angel blood in them who are called shadowhunters there also is an amazing romance.
  • The Summer I Turned Pretty Series- Jenny Han. I have always loved books about summer, who doesn't? But this series brought the bar up like a million notches. Lets just say I LOVE CONRAD and would marry him.
  • The Selection- Kiera Cass. This series is like Cinderella meets Hunger Games, it's so interesting, and the world it's set in is so unique and different. The third book in this series is being released May 6th and I seriously might die waiting for it. I'm team Maxon in case anyone cares.
  • Divergent Series-Veronica Roth. How could I not write this one down it is captivating, I personally hated how the last book ended but I accept that not everyone gets a happy ending, I can some this book up in one word FOUR.
My Current Favorite Series -Jordyn

Never Too Far- Abbi Glines

Never Too Far- Abbi Glines
Woah can we just talk about how short this book was! Not cool Abbi not cool at all, I finished it in 3 hours flat. Never Too Far is the second book in the Rosemary Beach series, the first book is Fallen Too Far which I do have a full review on further down below. I loved Fallen Too Far so frickn much that I had to read the sequel once I had time luckily I found some time.
This book is told is Rush's and Blaire's point of view which I love having the girl and guy's point of view in romance books.
Rush kept a secret that destroyed Blaire's world, everything Blaire had grown up believing was a lie. Blaire is still in love with Rush, but how can she ever forgive him. She returns home to Alabama, and starts to live again as best as she can. Until an unexcepted turn brings her whole world down. How can she get over Rush, when he's the only person she can trust.
There may be spoilers so i'm sorry. OMFG Rush you promised to be there for her but as soon as Nan gets in an accident you run off and treat her like a piece of shit under your shoe. I was honestly hoping Blaire would leave him, he was a wuss. I really had hoped her and Woods would become a thing he treated her right the whole time. Nan was so stuck up, like why can't you just let your brother be happy, he's taken care of you your whole life the least you can do is let him be happy. Blaire's dad was a douche, he abandoned his family for a family that wasn't his at all. "be the one thing I couldn't be for her a man" Well maybe if you manned up and weren't a complete dick that would actually be heartfelt. Rushes "No. One. Comes. Before. You" Dude you left her for Nan faster than I could say WTF. Rush lost all his bad boyness which some people like it and a lot of people hate it, I personally felt like it was him growing up and letting himself really truly love Blaire and it made him seem like a good person to be a father. I loved when Blaire asked him to get a nipple piercing I found that crazy, but also so sweet that he was willing to do that for her. I give this book 4 out of 5 mostly because it was pretty short and  Blaire and Rush always did the same thing. Piss each other off than make up, piss each other off then make up. But I totally want to read the next book and the book from Rushes point of view.

The 5th Wave-Rick Yancey

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it's the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth's last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie's only hope for rescuing her brother--or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up. (Copyright Amazon)
Wow I heard good things about this book and finally decided to give it a try, I loved it and I hated it. I loved the idea of the waves, and the 5th wave well that was a genius idea. It was so unique and amazing till the end then it just ended you don't know what happens to Evan which broke my heart. I thought this was seriously one of the best sci-fi romance read I have ever read but I can only give it a 4.25 because we don't find out what happens to Evan and that's just not ok. I honestly cried in this book. The sad thing is, if there was an alien invasion it would seriously be this easy to kill us, and a bunch of people would think they come in peace. SPOILER ALERT: I honestly guessed that Evan was the hunter, I thought it was so romantic how he went for her in the building and safed her, Ben and Sams. I wish we knew what happened because Evan was started to grow on me. I honestly can't believe that she found her brother and Ben.

Enders Game Book-Movie Comparison

I recently read Enders Game, and watched the movie and I thought instead of doing a review I would do a movie comparison. I liked both the book and the movie for very different reasons, and had problems with both.
I felt like the movie did an amazing job of bringing the battle room scenes to life, and I loved how as far as setting and scenery went they really stayed true to the book. The movie doesn't go as far as the book does which I liked, I liked the fact that Ender didn't go on with life he really tried to fix things in the movie. Where it ends off Ender is traveling space trying to find a safe place for the egg. I thought the casting was pretty decent except the age of the actors, ENDER IS ONLY 6 when he enters battle school, not 16. I totally understand that they couldn't film a movie with 6 year olds running around, but they still could have used a younger actor. One thing I love about both the movie and the book is the questions it brings up on humanity, how we're so willing to destroy others for our well being. I personally felt like the movie missed major parts on Peter, in the movie Peter is portrayed as pure evil and Enders worst nightmare, which he totally is but in the book Peter has very strong political opinions and is actually really smart, he tracks army movements and has a very interesting way of thinking. I honestly didn't except that from him, I had totally casted him as pure evil, but he has very strong opinions that I really really wish they had shown in the movie. I also feel like in the movie they miss how important Peter is to Ender, Ender is the way he is because of Peter all Ender wants is for Peter to love him. I wish they had shown the part with Dink talking about how our enemies aren't the aliens but the people who run the school, they also totally rewired command school, which I preferred the way it was in the movie as opposed to the book.  The movie didn't show much of the battle room scenes which I was very disappointed about but I was really happy they made Bean the same age as Ender and not a launchie when Ender is commander. Overall I liked both but didn't love either.

Series I Will Not Be Finishing

This isn't in any order or anything like that.
  • Enders Game Series - Orson Scott Card. This series is Sci-fi and futuristic. I believe there is roughly 10 books in the series. I read the first book and didn't love it or really like it at all. It was interesting but wasn't a book for me. I really did prefer Peters character in the book than in the movie. I seriously hated the font so much, which made it less fun to read. If you like Sci-fi intense sci-fi and if you liked the movie I would recommend it too you.
  • The Gossip Girl Series-Cecily von Ziegesar. I LOVE the show to death, but the books were just boring and didn't really have a hook or anything to drag me in, I couldn't imagine the setting that well and I overall did not like it.
  • Pretty Little Liars-Sara Shepard. My reason for not finishing the series isn't that I didn't like it, I personally just felt like the books have gone on too long and are becoming predictable and are just not as interesting.
  • Carrie Diaries-Candace Bushnell. I absoultly hated the first book, I hated it with a passion, that's seriously all I can say.
That's all I have today because I prefer single novels and books without a series, let me know which series you will not be finishing down below.
